COWBOY MONDAY

Yeehaw! Who wants to talk cowboys? I could talk about them all day and night. Actually, an 18-hr day sounds good. Here are some facts and myths about cowboys:

1. myth: cowboys lived glamorous lives like in the movies

fact: cowboys work 18-hr days and beat up their bodies on the trail

2. myth: cowboys ride their favorite horses all day

fact: cowboys have a string of horses they change up. The horses are often driven with the cattle, and cowboys will switch mounts as their horse tires.

3. myth: cowboys of the Old West had to fight off Native Americans

fact: they rarely, if ever, fought Native Americans

4. myth: the word COWBOY was coined in Texas

fact: cowboy is a word stemming from the Mexican and Spanish word VAQUERO

5. myth: Em Petrova writes scorching-hot cowboys

fact: This myth is actually TRUE!

Thanks for reading,

Em~
