EDIT ME — Texts in works of fiction

quote mark

We live in an era where we sometimes text a lot more than we speak aloud. I’m guilty. At times in a manuscript, your characters start texting too. So how do you pick it out as being a text?

1. make sure it’s apparent which text belongs to which character. Use separate lines or nicknames for the other character so it’s evident

2. italicize!

Yo, Cock Waffle. Wanna get pizza?

WTF are you texting me for? I told u to delete me.

Guess that’s a no…

Thanks for reading!
