Not Another Soldier — with Samantha Holt

Not Another Soldier 800 (2)

Having lived as a military wife for nearly ten years, I know just how hardworking all military men (and women) are. I had to dedicate my latest release Not Another Soldier to them because they are amazing!

Of course, the uniform doesn’t hurt. There’s something about a man in camo that gets the…uh… creative juices going, but that’s not the only sexy thing about them. Every girl wants a man who’s willing to fight for her, right? How about a man who fights for his country? Even better! These guys go out to the worst places, live in terrible conditions, eat horrible food and see things no person should, but what never fails to amaze me is how open and fun and courageous they are.

It’s not all rolling around in dust, shooting the enemy and avoiding IEDs either. While we’re still in bed, they’re up, getting ready to work or exercising. Weekends off or a 9 – 5 day aren’t guaranteed and just because they’re not on tour, doesn’t mean they won’t go away. Training exercises (or manoeuvres) means they’re often away for weeks at a time. Those with families have to endure being strangers in their own homes after months away or their children barely recognising them. Those without, live in rooms no better than student accommodation.

Yet they are still proud to do their job and they do it with a grin on their face.

That is what I love most about soldiers. In spite of everything, they show utter pride in their hard work and dedication. They do it because they love their county, their families and their brothers-in-arms. And to top it all off, they look damned good doing it.

Not Another Soldier Blurb

I’ve just buried my husband. I was going to divorce him and now he’s dead.

After five years as a military wife, Sienna is moving on. She’s keen to leave behind the misery of her marriage to Rob but for some reason the past won’t let her go. It doesn’t help that her closest friend, Nick, is also a soldier. Unfortunately Sienna is struggling to deny her attraction to the sexy marine, even knowing there can be no future in it. When the injured soldier admits he wants her just as badly, and has always wanted her, the fight to control her feelings becomes harder.

And now she’s learning things about her late husband that surprise even her. When the secrets of Rob’s life come to light, Sienna finds herself involved with some very nasty people and Nick is determined to protect her, no matter what.

As the danger grows to both her heart and her life, Sienna needs to decide if it was the army that was the problem or her late husband. Is Nick worth the heartache of being a military spouse again? And will he be able to protect her from the ring of drug dealers slowly closing in?
